An Activity Every Day Makes More Engagement than One Big-Time Event

This is something I learned while observing the current generation’s social media. In a digital generation, meme pages and groups grow faster than bloggers, poets, and other casual hobbyists. Apart from being funny and catchy, engagements are highly dependent on how often a name is seen in a feed. I am a casual blogger, and one bitter truth to blogging is that our most important asset would be readership, which is difficult to attain in this generation who prefers graphics and videos. No matter how good our articles are, if no one reads them, they are worth nothing.

Notice the advertising behavior of artists and idols—they post at least one photo a day. This keeps their followers hooked and satisfied, and opens doors for more followers. No wonder modern day influencers’ goals would always include releasing content every day, or at least every week. As much as I don’t want to call it consumerism, the truth is that this consistency keeps people away from forgetting you. Imagine if our favorite idols would announce hiatus then just suddenly pop out for a comeback without any engagements in between, they wouldn’t be the big of idols they are now. They release photos, short videos, casual livestreams, etc. so that we always remember.

That’s why it’s also important to habitually do things we love. It takes great effort to keep doing something every day. Passion should be enough to keep our goals standing. And that passion should transcend to followers, to keep them believing in our potential.
